Miriam “Mimi” Reeves, 65, of Sylvania, passed away June 26, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Mimi was born to Osman and Johanna Galevi on September 26, 1958.
Mimi was a devoted advocate for family, both personally and professionally. Through her career in social work within the Family Courts, Mimi enjoyed improving the lives of the families she had the opportunity to work with. Beyond her professional life, Mimi loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an ardent lover of the arts, music, and nature. Her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy traveling, food, and new experiences with her husband of 33 years, David Reeves. Married November 8, 1991, they built a family and life together. From their participation with the Glass City Mashers, running or biking in local races, Mimi was deeply woven into the local fabric of the community she loved.
Mimi loved to remain active, including evenings spent with her book club ladies, bird watching with her brother, and yoga. She enjoyed watching her children grow into adulthood and was so proud to see them flourish. Mimi also had a deep love for her grandchildren and her time spent with them. She found peace and joy celebrating the little moments of life in a home filled with love, laughter, and memories.
She is survived by her husband, David Reeves; son, Stephan Reeves (Heather); daughter, Amy Eaton (Gregory), daughter, Rachel Reeves. Grandchildren, Izzy Vernon, Liam Eaton, Luke Eaton, Morgan Kennell, Grant Will, and Sophie Reeves. Brother, Emir Galevi; brother-in-law, Brian Reeves (Marcy); sister-in-law Sheryl Risser (Sean); nieces, Sarah Jeanne Galevi, Lexi (Anthony) Lanagan, and Brianna Reeves; nephew, Alexei Osman Galevi.
