Minnie M. Veilleux, age 84, of Erie, MI. passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born January 5, 1928 to Mitchell and Miranda (Parsons) Mullins in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.
Minnie was employed by the Reflect-O-Lite Company, Tilliston Company and most recently Family Services of Greater Toledo as a Caregiver. She had a strong faith and in her earlier days, taught Sunday School. Minnie loved spending time with her friends, and enjoyed Bluegrass Music, Fishing and was known as the garage sale "Queen." An excellent cook, Minnie was known for her chicken and dumplings.
The widow of Robert C. Veilleux, who passed away August 11, 1993, Minnie is survived by her loving family, daughter, Connie (Rich) Reno, Sr., son, Robert W. Veilleux; grandchildren, Destiny Veilleux, Andrea Veilleux, Brittany (Jeremy) Hakeos, Steven Veilleux and Michelle Reno; great granddaughter, Desirae Gonzalez; step-grandchildren, Rich Reno, Jr. and Dawn Reno; sister, Pansey (Cecil) Sayre; brother, Kenneth (Bonnie) Howard; sister-in-law, Evelyn Cleveland; special Godsons, William (Darlene) White and Robert (Lorrie) White and Canine companion, "Neil Diamond." In addition to her parents and husband, Minnie was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters.
The family will receive guests Friday, February 17, 2012 from 3:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road (419-473-0300). Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
