Minnie McKitric (Dominga Portillo), 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 13, 2012. She was born on November 1, 1936 to the late Angelita and Romualdo Portillo, Sr. in Austin, Texas.
Minnie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking for them, especially Spanish food. Minnie adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren! Keeping her family together was very important to her. Minnie and her brother, Ray organized the family reunions together every year. Known throughout her neighborhood as, "Aunt Minnie" or "Grandma", she helped raise many of the neighborhood kids.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Tribble) McKitric, Sr.; son, Robbie Allen; sister, Annie Villolovous; brothers, Patrick Portillo and Raymon Portillo; grandchildren, Destiny Wainwright and Meryojé Peacock. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sylvester (Delia) Gonzales, Brenda (Curtis) McKitric-Jackson, Ida Hartfield, Robert Tribble, Jr.; siblings, Frances Lopez, Ray (Nancy) Portillo, Alice Hicks; grandchildren, Peggymarie Gonzales, Miguel Gonzales, Ronald Longoria, Monica McKitric, LeQuan (Shatina) McKitric, Caché McKitric, Jahnaija McKitric, Eddie McKitric, Dwight Wainwright, Jr., Edward Wainwright, Tequinna Clayborne, Tymara Carter, Robert Tribble, III, and many other loving family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday from 2-5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
