Mildred "Mid" Mae Parks, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Franciscan Care Center. She was born July 25, 1920 in Toledo to Howard and Loretta (Gauckstardt) Morris. Mid was employed at The Toledo Hospital as a registered nurse for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She served as the camp choir nurse at Trinity Episcopal Church for 10 years, and also taught Sunday School. She later became a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and served on the Intercessory Prayer Team and member of the Tucker's Women's Group.
The widow of Raymond H. Parks whom passed away November 13, 1979, Mid is survived by her loving family; children, Pamela (Robert) Miller, Kim (Lynn) Parks and Deborah (John) Johnston; grandchildren, Bob Miller III, Brett Miller, Kim Parks II, Kevin Parks, Andrea Lehaney and Erin Lehaney; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mid was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Parks Lehaney and grandson, Sean Parks.
The family will receive guests Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300). The family will also receive guests Monday, June 24, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 5240 Talmadge Road, Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church or the Toledo Animal Shelter.
