Mildred I. "Midge" Day, age 97, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 when God came and took a beautiful mother and grandmother home and released her soul to be with him and loved ones. She was born on November 3, 1915 to Ervin and Belva (Long) Peake. Midge can now see and enjoy all the beautiful things she missed while in her last months of living. She was truly a giving person who loved all dogs, cats, birds and squirrels. The bird feeders and nuts for the squirrels are overflowing up in Heaven now.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; grandson, Ralph Kaczmarek; and son-in-law, Richard Kaczmarek. Midge is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kaczmarek; son, Bruce Day; grandchildren, Debbie Kaczmarek, Jill DeLong, Tim Day, Brooke Hahn and Erin Glazener; 11 great-grandchildren; also surviving is a very special person in her life, Tom; who always made time and did so much for her.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
