Michael L. Smith "Smitty", 68, of Toledo, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2021 at Advanced Health Care. Smitty was born February 27, 1952 in Toledo.
He was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country in the Marines. Smitty worked for many years at Guardian Industries retiring in 2015. He enjoyed cooking out, riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR and playing pool. Smitty was a musician who loved playing the drums.
He is survived by his fiancée, Karen Werts; step-son, Robert (Linda) Werts; and many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Smitty was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Sevrence; brother, Thomas Sevrence; and sister, Judy Snuggs.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Karen Werts.
A Celebration of Life honoring Smitty will be held at a later date.
