Michael Robert Schroder, born on February 10, 1958, in Augsburg, Germany, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at Ebeid Hospice Center Sylvania.
He graduated from Sylvania Northview High School, and then began his military career in the United States Army.
He proudly served as a helicopter crew chief and aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed getting to serve in a number of duty stations which included Alaska and South Korea.
This formative experience in the military not only shaped his character, but sharpened his exceptional skills as a mechanic, which he carried proudly into his career following the military.
Michael’s technical expertise made him a respected figure in his field, where he was often recognized for his meticulous work and problem-solving capabilities. His colleagues and friends admired his skills and experience. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help. Michael loved his work, and enjoyed training new technicians.
Beyond his professional life, Michael was a passionate scale model hobbyist. His lifelike creations were built and designed with such precision and artistry. His collection included model trains and railways, military vehicles and aircraft.
Michael will be missed by his family, and all whose lives he touched.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Christina (Stuart) Heflin; granddaughters, Stella and Olivia Heflin; parents, Hans and Margarete (Nather) Schroder; and his siblings, Robert Schroder, Betina Schroder, Caroline Chupurdy, and Ritchie Schroder.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved son, Scotty Schroder; and his grandparents, Kazimierz and Anna Mamet.
