Michael "Mike" Miskiel, a devoted postal carrier and cherished member of his community, passed away on March 9, 2025, in Maumee, Ohio, at the age of 72. Born on August 5, 1952, in Toledo Ohio, Mike lived a life full of purpose and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
For 40 years, Mike served as a postal carrier for the United States Post Office, embodying the spirit of service and commitment to the community. Additionally, he played a significant role in the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 100 for 25 years, dedicating 15 years as a chief steward where he passionately advocated for his fellow letter carriers. His work left a legacy of support and friendship among his peers.
As a graduate of Woodward High School in 1970, Mike carried his education into his career and life, constantly pursuing opportunities to grow and learn. He was known for his dry sense of humor and fun-loving disposition, imparting joy and laughter to those around him. His ability to turn a joke dark was a testament to his unique personality and ability to connect with others.
Mike's proudest accomplishments extend beyond his career; he was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, instilling a love for the sport in his children and grandchildren alike. His passion for football and baseball brought camaraderie and excitement to family gatherings, and he delighted in shooting a game of pool. A lover of technology, Mike was also engaged in computer video games, and he could often be found savoring his favorite Mountain Dew drinks or dining at Venturas Mexican Restaurant.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Natalie Miskiel; grandchildren Anthoney Michael White, Hunter White, and Aspen White; sister Barbara Scott; daughters-in-law, Treassa Baldwin and Azure White as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
Mike now joins his late wife, Valencia Miskiel, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage, as well as his son Timothy White and grandsons Kaleb White and Tyler White.
Visitation will be held on March 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623. A Funeral Service will take place the following day, March 17, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home. Following the service, a Graveside Service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Ave, Toledo, OH 43615, starting at 12:30 PM.
Michael Miskiel will be remembered not only for his service and hard work but also for the laughter he brought into the lives of those who loved him. His legacy continues through the fond memories shared by family and friends.
