Michael J. Maier

Michael J. Maier, age 65, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday, June 6, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Stanley and Martha Maier in Shelby, Ohio. Mike graduated in 1969 from Shelby High School before moving to Toledo. He married the love of his life, Paula Williams, on June 23, 1973. They made their home in Toledo for the last 43 years and had one daughter, Katie.

Mike worked 25 years for American Oxygen Company and then 8 years for AES Scales before retiring in 2007. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time at the lake, and collecting and repairing antique clocks. Mike loved nothing more than the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and was a loyal and true friend to all. Mike will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Paula; daughter, Katie (Dave) Budas; grandchildren, Samantha and Jack; step-mother, Sally Maier; brothers, Chuck (Kathy), Bob, and Steve (Marilyn) Maier; sister, Mary (Blane) Mahon; mother-in-law, JeanAnn Williams; brother-in-law, Craig (Sue) Williams; sister-in-law, Janet (Denny) Bemiller; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
