Merlin S. Wapshall

Merlin S. Wapshall, was born on April 14, 1928 to Edward and Ruth (Householder) Wapshall. He married Mary Ellen Schmidt on November 27, 1948. Merlin started working at E. I. DuPont in 1969 where he was a control operator in the lab. Merlin retired in January 1993. He previously owned a gas and fuel oil business for 20 years before going to DuPont.

Merlin was a devoted husband, caring father, and good friend and neighbor. He was unfailingly kind and fair. Not one to call attention to himself, he was essential to the fabric of our family and community. He is sorely missed.

Merlin is survived by dear son, Dr. Terrance. M. Wapshall; sister, Mary Kagy; and sister-in-law, Betty Meder. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Mary Ellen; precious daughter, Beth Ann Wapshall, and brother, Norman Wapshall.

According to Merlin's wishes there will be no visitation and burial will be private. The Newcomer Funeral Home – NW Chapel (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
