Melvin Tomaszewski

Melvin W. "Peanuts" Tomaszewski, age 94, of Maumee, OH. passed away December 1, 2021 in Perrysburg, OH. Melvin was born January 30, 1927 to Walter and Sophia (Jachimiak) Tomaszewski. As a child he attended Nativity School finishing his education at Libbey High School. He served in the army spending most of his time in the Philippines. On January 20, 1951 he married the love of his life Josephine Masters. He was employed with Jeep Corporation for 44 years retiring in 1992. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and also loved his Yankees. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his great grandson Tyrese play football and then baseball. Until a few years ago he faithfully played golf with his longtime friends.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Josephine (Masters) Tomaszewski; Brother, Richard Tomaszewski; and Son-in-Law, Marvin Stokes. Melvin leaves to cherish his memory Son, James (Sharon) Tomaszewski; Daughters, Jean Stokes and Judy Tomaszewski; Grandchildren Tara Tomaszewski, Jamarr Stokes, Jaz Stokes, Abbey Jo Tomaszewski, Ava Jean Tomaszewski; A very special great grandson Tyrese Tomaszewski. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his friends from Ideal, Timbers Bowling Alley, Maumee Senior center and Golfing buddy, Joe Gantz.
