Melody Marie Morales

Melody Marie Morales, age 56, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on August 2, 2020. She was born on March 24, 1964 in Las Angeles, CA to Dale Lavassaur and Kathy Ames. She worked as a manager with CVS for several years, as well as other retail stores throughout her career. Melody met the love of her life, Robert, in 1995 when he took a seat on the only empty barstool in a crowded room, which happened to be the seat next to Melody's. Together they enjoyed spending their time at softball diamonds and being with family. Melody's grandsons were the joy in her life, she loved watching them grow and being a part of their upbringing. She also enjoyed frolicking and loving on her pups, Buckeye, Peanut, and Sassy, over the years.

Melody was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Morales; daughter, Carrie Leedy; grandsons, James and Jordan Moon; father, Dale Lavassaur; mother, Kathy Ames; sister, Tambra; aunt, Pixie, and her daughters, Pattie and Beth; and many other aunts, uncles, and family members.

Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel (419-473-0300), 4150 W. Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH, where a Celebration of Melody's Life will begin at noon. Inurnment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
