Maxine B. Upp

Maxine B. Upp, age 82, formerly of Toledo, currently of Palmyra, Michigan, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family. She was born April 25, 1926 to Raymond and Margaret (Dilbert) Bathurst in Altoona, Pennsylvania. In her younger years, she enjoyed modeling in New York. Maxine was employed with Champion Spark Plug for 20 years. She was an avid reader and loved art. Maxine loved nothing more than spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a very devoted, loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Bathurst, sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bud Figart and sister-in-law, Lois Bathurst. She is survived by her children, Robin (Chris Babcock) Carroll; Roberta (Jim) Parker; Rick Upp and Renee (Tim) Ruple; grandchildren, Harry; Tim; Jason (Katherine); Jeremy (Tonya); Derrick; Tiffany; Christopher; Justin; Matthew and Nicole; great grandchildren, Crystal, Morgan, Vanessa and Timmy; brothers, Raymond and Harry (Donna) Bathurst; longtime friend and hairdresser, Diana Leitner; and other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2 - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
