Max M. Save, age 80, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Monday, February 1st, 2010 at the Georlich Center, Sylvania. He was born February 9th, 1929 to Max and Beatrice (Mundersheid) Save in Liberty Center, Ohio. Max was a sports enthusiast graduating from Libbey High School, Class of '47, where he was a star football player. After graduation he entered into the sales industry for the family business and continued in sales for many years. He enjoyed the water and was an avid boater and fisherman spending as much time as he could on Lake Erie. He was an honorary member of Ottawa River Yacht Club. Max also enjoyed a good game of cards, especially Euchre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Bowes and Virginia Woods and grandchildren, Alicia and Gatlin. Max is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mary Jo (McCormick) Save; sons, Mike (Jan) Save; Dan (Becky) Save and George (Kathleen) Hack; daughters, Cyndy (Rick) Rogers; Debbie (Bob) Harris; Becky (Tim) Hague; Lauren Wuellner and Anne Bender; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a niece and nephews.
The family will receive guests Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Memorial Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Wuellner.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Goerlich Center, the Alzheimers Association or to the charity of the Donor's choice.
