Matthew Nuttall, age 90, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born on July 8, 1925 in Philipsburg, PA to William Hilling and Pemmela Nuttall. Matthew served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and Victory Medal. Matthew worked out of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 50 as a Journeyman Plumber for over 35 years and was a member of Mayfair Plymouth Church.
In addition to his mother, Matthew was also preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Gladys, and his only child, Linda. Matthew is survived by his grandson, Jamie (Michelle) Liwo; granddaughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Felix; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Morgan and Michael; brother, Lee Warr and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
