Marylou Crawford

MaryLou Crawford, age 69, of Toledo passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice with her husband at her side. She was born on October 2, 1946 to Edward C. Sr., and Martha R. (McCombs) Mankin in Toledo, Ohio.

MaryLou was a graduate of Whitmer High School. She earned her Bachelors in Education at Rio Grande College. In 1978 she earned her Masters from the University of Toledo. MaryLou taught for Washington Local Schools until 1981, returning years later as a substitute teacher.

MaryLou was an Assistant Administrator for Challenger Baseball League and was an Advisor to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo. MaryLou was Ohio District Kiwanis First Lady for the year 2001-2002, she was a member of the All Ohio E-Medina Kiwanis Club. She also was a member of West Toledo Kiwanis Club. At the time of her death she was Lt. Governor of Division 1 North in the Toledo area. During her term as First Lady of Kiwanis she chaired a project to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Ohio.

Her hobbies included golfing, camping with her family and volunteering for various children's charities.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Tom Crawford; daughter, Elizabeth (David) Harmon; grandchildren, Austin and Hayden Harmon; close family friends, Joyce (Jeff) Rhodes and their daughter Ella. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Thomas E. Crawford.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4718 Brittany Rd., Toledo, OH 43615. Memorial Services will begin in the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jennifer Leider. Inurnment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
