Mary Caroline Wise

Mary Caroline Wise (Drain), 81, of Holland, OH, passed away August 10, 2024 at St.Vincent Medical Center following a brief illness. Mary was born in Toledo, OH on July 30, 1943 to Maxwell & Corabel (Corwin) Drain. She was one of 7 children.

Mary was a graduate of Monroe High School. In 1962 she married the late Floyd White of Luna Pier, Michigan and bore 3 children. On September 10th, 1983 she married Larry Wise of Whitehouse, Ohio. They were married for 42 years.

Mary enjoyed reading her Bible, she taught Bible School at her church for several decades as well as spending some time as a Chaplain for Lutheran Children Services. As she was a contributor to local community outreach programs, Mary also fostered over 50 children in her lifetime. She also traveled all over the world for missions through her church, including Argentina, Africa, Russia, and Chile. Mary and her husband Larry took many travels across the United States and abroad in their free time. Mary spent plenty of time in the company of her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, neighborhood children, and even foster children, whom she loved dearly. Mary will not only be dearly missed by her family and friends, but those whose lives she touched all over the world. Above all else, Larry spent 47 years truly admiring and loving Mary, and he will miss her beyond measure. 

Mary is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Larry Wise, her children Tina (Willis) Reinbolt of Lambertville, Michigan; Timothy White of Rossford, Ohio, and Tracy (Kevin) Meade of Temperance, Michigan. 

Mary's loss will be felt by her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren: Chad (Courtney) Reinbolt, Adam (Tara) Reinbolt, Kayla Chamberlain, Elizabeth White, Nathan (Greg) Gibson, Alexa (Patrick) Hilkens, Maxine Gibson, Michael Decker, and Stefanie Frohlich. Great grandchildren: Alice Chamberlain, Claire Reinbolt, Sybil Hilkens, Cora Hilkens, Addison Reinbolt, Amelia Reinbolt, and Kennedy Keel. Mary is also survived by her siblings, Dan Drain, Roger (Karen) Drain, and Martin Drain.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Maxwell and Corabel; siblings, John Drain, Paul Drain, and Helen Budd.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a service immediately following, at 12:00 p.m. at Monclova Road Baptist Church at 7819 Monclova Rd. Monclova, OH 43542.

Mary will be laid to rest at Whitehouse Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Children’s Outreach Ministries.
