Mary Kerr, age 89, a resident of Maumee, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital. She was born January 6, 1917 to Charles John and Emma C. Drury in Detroit, Michigan. She married the late E. Paul Kerr of New Haven, IN on August 3, 1940. Mary served several local charities in volunteer fund raising and was a member of St. Pius X Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kerr; mother, Emma Drury; brother, Charles Drury and sister, Virginia Doehrman. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane (Kerr) Jilek of Perrysburg and Margie Weaver of Waterville; sons, David (Dixie) Kerr of Laguna Hills, CA and Rick (Ruth) Kerr of Toledo; sister, Lois Kawiecki of Ft. Wayne, IN; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 3011 Carskaddon Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. James Sanford. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Ridgewood Manor and the 3rd floor nursing staff at St. Luke's Hospital for the loving care and support they provided for Mary.
