Mary Donna Scurlock

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Mary Donna Scurlock announce her passing on November 2, 2021 at the age of 82. She made her debut to this world in 1939 in a house on New York Ave. in Toledo, Ohio to Samuel Langlois and Dorothy Szarletta. Mary was skillful with both hands and feet. With her hands, she was an expert grill cook, working at various restaurants in the Toledo area. With her feet, Mary was a competitive roller skate champion, winning several medals during her time skating at the Coliseum Roller Rink. Most important to Mary was her family, she loved spending time with her children, and all her grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children, Debra (Ronnie) Sumner, Robert (Cookie) Crawford, Richard (Janet) Crawford, Carl (Darlene) Scurlock, Melvin (Mary) Scurlock, and David Scurlock; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and another on the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Melvin Scurlock and daughter, Donna Crawford.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
