Mary Schwerdtfeger

Mary Alice Schwerdtfeger, age 93 of Swanton, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at Swanton Healthcare and Retirement Center. She was born January 10, 1917 to James and Minnie (Brown) Donigen in Green Leaf, Kansas. Mary was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish in Swanton for a number of years.

She is survived by her daughter, Arleta (Ronito) Biania; sister, Patricia Stephenson of Papillon, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a host of special nieces and nephews. Preceding Mary in death were her parents; children, Leon W. and Raymond L. Schwerdtfeger and Marjoree L. Soderburg and 8 siblings, 3 of whom passed away as young children.

The family will receive guests Friday, January 7, 2011 from 9-10:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Parish, 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton, Ohio 43558. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Richard Catholic Parish with Fr. Anthony Recker officiating with Fr. Joven Malaon concelebrating. Interment will follow Mass in St. Richard's Cemetery in Swanton.
