Mary Jewele Pollauf

Mary Jewele Pollauf, age 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully at home Monday, December 13, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1933 to Bernard and Frances Stammen in Toledo, OH. Jewele was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. Her faith was very important to her. In her younger years she enjoyed camping, traveling and western square dancing. Jewele was an avid reader, liked crafting and doing puzzles. She was a generous, kind, loving person who would help anyone in need. Jewele loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred; brother, Marvin Stammen; sister, Connie Rosenberger; and many loving in-laws, who she was very close with.

Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Jeff, Neil (Kim), Joyce (Don) Dauer, Laura (Dan) Burke, and Sharon (John) Kreger; grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie), Kevin, Haley (Taylor), Jessica, Miranda (Channing), Joel, Jeremy and Carly; great-grandson, Brekken; acquired "grandchildren", Van-Nessa and Tayla; sisters-in-law, Ruth Stammen and Ginny Seeman; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Mass will begin Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 North Haven, Toledo, OH 43612

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

It took a village to care for "grandma" over the last few years. Everyone's visits, phone calls and support were always appreciated. We would like to give an extra special thank you to Catherine, Jenny, Susan and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their love and care given to Mary Jewele and our family throughout this journey.
