Mary P. Staunton

Mary "Polly" Pauline Staunton, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away October 18, 2014 at her home. She was born May 1, 1929 in Fountain City, Tennessee to Monroe and Alice Gardner. Polly was employed as a Realtor with Sauder Realty and also worked for ABC Warehouse, Banner Mattress and Al Thomas Shoes. Polly was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary Post 537. She enjoyed playing euchre, gardening and collecting toy stuffed cats.

Polly is survived by her children, Pamela Pyle, Joseph Staunton, Jr., Harry (Nora) Staunton, John "Bob" (Kathy) Staunton, Walter "Pete" Staunton and Edwin M. Staunton; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Staunton, Sr.; sisters, Goldie Mae Bailey, Alice Glaze and Margaret Akers and son-in-law, David Pyle.

The family will receive guests, Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will begin Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.at Christ the King Catholic Church (Please meet directly at Church). Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
