Mary H. Lloyd

Mary H. Lloyd, age 93, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Friday, July 1, 2022 at Sunset Village. She was born on September 18, 1928 to Joseph "Roy" and Laura Helen (Linde) Hart in Toledo. Mary graduated in 1946 from Burnham High School where she was the first female class president. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Toledo. Mary taught in Lorain, OH for a short time before marrying William George Lloyd on June 29, 1952. They were married for over 60 years before his passing in 2012. She had a passion for education especially math and came from a long line of educators. Mary enjoyed being around people and getting to know them. She was an incredible seamstress, an avid gardener, and loved animals especially dogs. Mary loved spending time with her family. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William; brothers, James and John Hart; and son-in-law, Carlos Pomalaza-Raez. Left to cherish Mary's memory are her loving daughters, Barbara Lloyd, Martha (Rick) Fansler and Carol (Doug) Smith; grandson, Raoul (Sharon Diaz) Pomalaza-Lloyd; 1 great-grandson on the way; and nephew, Tom (Jeannelle) Hart and their daughter, Waverly.

There will be no visitation or services for Mary at this time. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions in honor of Mary are asked to consider the Salvation Army or the American Red Cross.
