Mary K. "Marie" (Schultz) LaCourse, age 81, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on January 29, 1926 to Gus and Laura (Karnes) Schultz in Toledo. Marie worked for Gladieux Foods, was a distributor for King Nut Co., and managed Russ' Lounge on Dorr St. for 20 years which was owned by her brother Russell. She was a member of Margaret Hunt Senior Center and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #646, Holland, Ohio. Marie enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, playing cards and helping anyone less fortunate than herself. She was happy giving in anyway that she could and never wanted anything in return.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving companion of 24 years, Ralph Wilhelm, brothers, Russell, Jacob and William Schultz and sister, Eleanor Dye Knittle. Marie is survived by her loving family, sons: Paul (Carol), Richard (Jules) and Daniel (Judy) LaCourse; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew who helped her through some difficult health problems, Russ (Judy) Schultz and Marilyn (Gus) Ambil; very special friends: Jane Patton and Dolly Crews; some caring and helpful neighbors: Cheryl, Karen and Julie; her special treasure: "Cotton"; and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, (419-473-0300) from 4 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will begin on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in State Line Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their loving care and support given to Marie and her family through this difficult time.
