Mary Jane (Kuhlman) Sheidler was born on May 6, 1926 to George and Susan Kuhlman. She attended Putnam County schools. Mary met the love of her life at the Putnam County fair and married Dale Edward Sheidler in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mary passed away on August 17, 2015.
Mary was a very lively and social person with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling and family parties. She was an expert seamstress, and created beautiful clothes for herself and her daughters. For a number of years she worked in retail, in the children's department at J.C. Penny's. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Even though in later years she had suffered loss and had undergone many surgeries, she maintained her sense of humor and a cheerful disposition: "There is no point in complaining. It doesn't make any difference, and people won't want to be around you!" The world will be a little less bright because of her absence. She was courageous. She was strong. She was loved.
She is survived by her sons Roger (Sandy) Sheidler, Michael (Sue) Sheidler, Mark (Laurie) Sheidler, Christopher (Betsy) Sheidler and her daughters Linda (Edward) Doyle and Vickie (Steve) Brown; grandchildren Bobbie (Todd) Strayer, Lindsey (John) Horrigan, Michael (Kendra) Sheidler, Melissa Collins, Kim (Joe) Madden, Jason (Kristen) Sheidler, Alyssa Sheidler, Andrew (Heather) Brown, Ryan (Samantha) Brown, Britney (Andrew) Harvey; great grandchildren Owen, Grace, Sandy, Jonas, Anthony (AJ), Grace Marie, Erin, Erica, Austen, Josh, Bryson, JJ and great-great grandchildren Matt and Alex. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George Kuhlman, Robert Kuhlman and sisters Elizabeth Kuhlman, Delores Kuhlman, Helen Schmersal, Rita Gerschutz and Lydella Schmersal. Special thanks to Carol Shull and Marilyn Sharkey who did so much to help Mary in her later years.
