Mary Lou Hart, age 76, of Toledo, passed away September 29, 2018 in her home. Mary was born August 6, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond and Rita (Buell) Shoviak.
In 1966 fate led Mary Lou to a chance meeting on October 1 with a young man by the name of "Bud" Hart. Just 24 days later, on October 25, they married and spent the next 48 years as man and wife until Bud's passing in 2014. Along the way the shared the love of animals especially dogs. Together the raised, bred and showed dachshunds and whippets, later rescuing Greyhounds. Mary Lou and Bud had one daughter Tami (Hart) Gilmore. Together with her husband Steve Gilmore they gave Mary Lou the lights of her life, her grand-children.
She was an English Teacher for TPS for 30 years. She passed down her love of poetry and books to her daughter and grand-children. Mary was also a big sports fan, she loved football, basketball, NASCAR and her greatest love was for hockey, anything Red Wings and Boston.
In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her loving husband. She is survived by her Daughter, Tami (Steve) Gilmore; Grand-children, Aaron (Missy) Lindhorst, Ariel (Chris) McVicker, Autumn (Andrew) Gleesing, Deacon (Hayle) Gilmore, and Dylan (Cory) Dutkiewicz; Great Grand-children, Maddie, Rook, Charlie, Addi, Rhory, Kale, Daemon, Penelope, Roxton, Landon Grace and Gigi.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 05, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. ~ 5:00 p.m. in the Activity Room at Alexis Gardens, 4560 W. Alexis Rd. Toledo, OH 43623.
