Mary Gignac

Mary "Ann" A. Gignac, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Sunset House. She was born on December 23, 1924 to Herbert and Agnes (MacKenzie) Whittle in Detroit, Michigan. Ann loved literature and was an avid reader, never being without something to read. She also loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Whittle. Ann is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Paul Gignac; children: Ross (Lodema) Gignac, Andrea Gorski, Michael (Anna) Gignac and Joseph (Carla) Gignac; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister: Catherine (Jack) Nicols; and brother: Alfred (Delores) Whittle.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, May 14, 2006 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 2 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
