Mary Evelyn (Crippen) Myers, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. Mary spent her final days surrounded by the love and comfort of cherished family and friends. Born on November 14, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, Mary lived a life rich in love, service, and dedication.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Josephine Crippen, her brothers Whitey, Joe, Jimmy, Jerry, Phil, and Tom, and her cherished grandson, Sgt. Joe Myers.
She is survived by her devoted children, Gregory (Beth), Melissa, and Shannon, as well as her grandchildren Jake, Chad, Katie, and Kelsey. Mary was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Ava Joe, who brought immense joy.
Mary’s career reflected her deep commitment to others. She worked as a barmaid at the Old South End and served disabled clients at Lott Industries, and dedicated much of her time to serving veterans at the American Legion Post 642.
Mary's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her warm, caring spirit. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. She was fondly remembered for her signature loud whistle, which she used to call her children home. She loved camping, gardening, visiting the Goodwill, and spending time with her beloved dogs.
A visitation will be held to celebrate her life and legacy on September 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Toledo Animal Rescue https://toledoanimalrescue.org
Mary Myers will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
