Mary Ellen Conger

Mary Ellen (Markin) Conger, 86, formerly of Gibsonburg, Ohio and most recently Ridgewood Manor in Maumee, Ohio, died early Tuesday Morning, September 6, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born April 12, 1936 to Jesse and Hazel (Peoples) Markin. Mary married Lamar (Sonny) Conger on April 14, 1955 and they lived in Fremont, Ohio with their two sons. They divorced after the boys were grown. Mary worked at the Holiday Inn as a wedding coordinator for many years showcasing her talent and creativity. Her coworkers adored her. She last worked at Stage department stores. She was always known to be a 'Sharp Dresser' and many customers would request her by name.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine of her siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Stephen L (Denise) Conger, of Fremont, Ohio, and Mark A. (Patti) Conger, of Sandusky, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Smith, of Clay Center, Ohio, and Lola Rewoldt, of Genoa, Ohio.

There will be no visitation or services. The family will be holding a small private ceremony as she requested, to spread her ashes.
