Mary Carlene(Wassermann) Henning

Mary Carlene "Connie" Henning, age 86, a longtime resident of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 at Meadowbrook Manor, Naperville, Illinois. She was born June 1st, 1924 to Theodore C. and Anastasia Mary (Cutcher) Wassermann in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Connie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Alter Rosary Society. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, cherishing the time she was able to spend with her family.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Henning, Sr.; brothers, Wilmer and Bernard Wassermann; sister, Patricia Wassermann and stepson, Edgar L. Henning, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Terrence L. (Patsy) Henning and Lawrence E. (Sandra) Henning; daughter, Jean C. (Steven) Miller of Chicago, IL; stepdaughters, Edith Erwin; Mary Zeiter and June Couch; grandchildren, Michelle of Bay City, MI; Chad of Chicago, IL; Clay of Lapeer, MI; Melissa of Midland, MI; Jeffrey of Essexville, MI; Larry, Jr. of Bay City, MI; Kimberly of Otsego, MI and Manda of Plainwell, MI; 14 great-grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and sisters, June Bishop and Joan Wassermann both of Toledo.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue. Presiding will be Fr. Martin Donnelly.

Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
