Mary B. Taylor, 89, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2013. She was born September 26, 1923, in Toledo.
Mary graduated from DeVilbiss High School and was employed by Toledo Trust, where she met her husband, Harold. She then pursued a 35-year career in Toledo real estate sales. Mary was active in many community volunteer efforts, most notably her avid work at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality Kitchen for the past 15 years. Mary was also a passionate supporter of past and present soldiers in memory of her husband, Harold E. Taylor, who was a B-17 bombardier and POW in WWII. She was a proud member of Blessed Sacrament Church where she frequently donated her time at parish events.
Mary supported both the Toledo Metroparks and the Toledo Zoo, where she spent much of her time later in life. She enjoyed daily morning walks through the parks and community where she was known for her love and care for local wildlife. She also loved listening to music and enjoyed attending many of her son Chris' jam sessions, looking on proudly. She lived each day with love and concern for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, eagerly following their lives and accomplishments.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Albert J. and Myrtle T. Larabell, as well as her seven siblings.
She is survived by her son Chris Taylor of Toledo; son Bill (Vicki) Taylor of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren Jeffrey Taylor of Mesa, AZ, and Greg (Jessi) Taylor of Tucson, AZ; and great grandchildren Quinn and Simon Taylor.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (4150 W. Laskey Rd., 419-473-0300). The Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Mary's Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
