Marvin L. Stevenson


Marvin L. Stevenson, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He went to join our Heavenly Father this morning surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born on January 18, 1935 to Nancy (Cross) Stevenson and Victor Stevenson. Marvin was raised in Toledo and was proud to attend Burnham High School in Sylvania and graduate from Holland High School. Marvin was employed as a meat cutter and manager at A&P for 31 years. Marvin married his wife, Maryann, on February 2, 1970. They would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary this Tuesday, February 2nd. His love for the Lord always came first, followed by his love for his family. Marvin spent his retirement years tracing his genealogy and continuing his study of art, literature and history. He was a life-long Civil War buff. He had a passion for cooking and enjoyed sharing these meals with his family and friends. These gatherings were filled with great laughter. We will always cherish these wonderful memories. Marvin was a kind-hearted man with a gentle spirit, who will be missed by all who knew him.

Marvin is survived by his devoted with of 38 years, Maryann; sons, Mark (Annetta) Stevenson; Charlie Stevenson; John (Linda) Wilson; Mark (Kelly) Wilson; daughters, Cynthia (Steve) Redman; Kathleen (Brian) Herlihy; Michelle (Jeff) Topolewski; Laurie (Rick) Naus; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Victor "Vic" (Sue) Stevenson. Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Donald "Donnie" Stevenson.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 5271 Alexis Rd., Sylvania.
