Martin T. Stoeckley, age 53, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was born on May 22, 1960 to John and Virginia (Connolly) Stoeckley in Toledo. Marty was the second youngest of eight and was born and raised in the Old West End on Scottwood Avenue. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1978. Marty worked at Lowe's R.D.C. in Findlay for over a decade.
Marty was a phenomenal golfer, he enjoyed many rounds of golf with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family, especially BBQ and camping. Marty was a devoted Notre Dame fan and was a host of many Friday Night Lights.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 24 years, Janet (Dickerson) Stoeckley; two sons, Wilyam and Luke Stoeckley; siblings, Karen Milek, Ted (Cindy) Stoeckley, Susie (Norm) Sobecki, John (Percilla) Stoeckley, Chris Stoeckley, Maribeth (John) Becker and Carol (Mike) Nadaud; sisters in law, Debra (L. Ridge) Dickerson and Mary (Brian) Studer; many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers in law, Ken Milek, Edward Dickerson and many memorable close friends.
The family will receive guests on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home and it will be led by Marty's sister in law, Deb Dickerson, followed by a Sharing of Memories for family and friends to celebrate Marty's life. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd.
