Our loving mother Martha, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at The Franciscan Care Center where she had lived for the past two and half years. She was born in Toledo's Polish Village to Adam and Cecelia (Pawelczak) Witecki on February 21, 1920. Martha was always a devoted wife and mother. She married John C. Fischer on September 2, 1939 and after his death in 1983 she married L. Byron Pym on November 15, 1986. Martha loved baking, crocheting, bowling and fishing with her husband in the early years of marriage. After the death of her husband Byron in 2002 she moved to Oakleaf Village where she made many new friends and enjoyed activities and social events.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stanley Pawelczak and Frank Witecki and sister, Clara Clayton. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Patricia (Robert) Fitch and John (Sherri) Fischer and special step-daughter, Carol Henry. Also surviving are her grandchildren, LeAnn (Dan) Schoenfelt, Julie (Paul) Fischer-Kinney, Scott (Letisha) Fischer; step-granddaughter, Roberta Fitch and family; great-grandchildren, Emily Schoenfelt, Austin and Belle Thomas and Madeline Kinney.
The family will receive guests Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to, The Pastoral Care Department at The Franciscan Care Center, 4111 N. Holland-Sylvania Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to thank Sister Jordan Schaefer and all of mom's nurses and caregivers at The Franciscan Care Center for all their care, love and support during this journey.
