Martha Lowe, age 104, passed away on September 24, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1912 to Bessie and Jacob "Forrest" Dohm in Pioneer, Ohio.
Martha retired in 1980 from Toledo Public Schools. She graduated from Tri-State University Business School. Martha was a long-time member of Memorial United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School pianist and teacher, a member of the bell-choir and church choir. She was a volunteer at St. Charles Hospital and the Stranahan. Martha loved traveling, sewing, crocheting and gardening. She loved her family and pursued close relationships with them, especially her grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence; daughters, Nancy (Steve) Szeman and Sally (Jim) Cole; grandsons, Mike and Darryl Cole, Jacob Halsey; great-grandson, Corbin Cole; siblings, Lucille (Royal) Masters and Russell (Jean) Dohm. Left to cherish her memory are her children, William (Emiko) Lowe, Lauren "Chris" (Thomas) Halsey and Jeri (Robert) Thanasiu; sisters, Isabelle Sidel and Ann Repp; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren.
The family will receive guests on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
