Martha L. Knauf, 92, died April 16, 2007. Born in Tennessee on April 28, 1914, she migrated, as a teenager, first to Detroit, then to Toledo, where she met, and in 1937, married Warner G. Knauf, who preceded her in death on September 17, 2003.
While raising two (2) children, she also assisted Werner during his years as a professional magician, and waitressed at the former Van's and Tivoli restaurants, and became renowned for her homemade banana cream pies.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Griffin, son, William G. (Joyce) Knauf, five (5) grandchildren and nine (9) great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 6383 Monroe St. Sylvania, OH 43560 in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
Any remembrances may be made as donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
