Martha Caryl Conliss

Martha C. "Tizzie" Conliss, age 99, of Toledo, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at Genoa Retirement Village. She was born December 25th, 1908 to William and Molly (Smith) Jacobs in Westminster, Ohio. Martha was employed with Champion Spark Plug, Aviation Department, for more than 30 years, retiring December 27th, 1968. She was a member of the UAW Local 12 and Willys Park Card Club. Martha was also a member of the Champion Breakfast Club and the Retirees Club through Champion. She enjoyed traveling and did so as often as she could. She also loved to fish and crocheted many blankets for all to enjoy.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys McDorman and Mary Heffner; brothers, Dalton and Manley Jacobs; granddaughter, Debbie Rafferty and her niece, Ivalou McDorman. Martha is survived by her loving children, Edward Bernard (Annette) Conliss and Bernadine Blasingim; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many dear great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Monday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery in Lima, Ohio at 2:00 pm.
