Marsha A. Samberg

April 14, 1954 — February 10, 2025

Toledo, Ohio

Marsha Samberg, age 70, passed away on February 10, 2025, at home after a short illness, with her husband Michael at her side. She was born on April 14, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Juanita Kwiatkowski.

Marsha grew up in Point Place and helped work the fruit stand at the family home and farm. She attended Whitmer High School, graduating in 1972. Marsha loved doing gymnastics, while in school and loved to read novels. She worked at a few restaurants, including the original Hamways in Sylvania, Ohio, which was her favorite and made many friends there. Marsha also did house cleaning jobs with her friend, Judy. Before that, she met Mike at Pablos Restaurant on Douglas Road and after a few years of dating, they married in 1988. She had two boys from a previous marriage, Gary and Jason. Marsha and Mike also known as M&M were best “buds” and did many things together like golfing with friends, especially enjoying the Pink Panther Golf Tournaments and together, they would attend many concerts, sporting events, and vacations. Marsha liked music, especially Classic Rock and Country Rock and was a big Ohio State Buckeye’s fan (Go Bucks!). Later on, she was a stay at home girl and loved finding things to do around the house. Marsha was an immaculate house keeper and everything had its place, but she had to put up with Mike messing up a little here and there. M&M liked cooking the evening meal together, while sipping a few cocktails and having dinner. She always said most of our meals were better than going out. Marsha also loved being around both families, relatives, and close friends, especially for the holidays.

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving husband of 36 years, Michael; son, Gary (Dawn) Sorter Jr.; brother, Michael Kwiatkowski; sister-in-law and good friend, Patricia Kwiatkowski; nieces, Michele (Steve) Plenzler, Tonya Kwiatkowski, Kim (Randy) Cousino; grandchildren, Candace and Christian; and two great grandchildren.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Juanita Kwiatkowski; brother, Thomas Kwiatkowski; son, Jason Sorter; and an infant sister.

Special thanks to St. Ann’s Oncology nurses for their kindness and care for Marsha. Also, a special thanks to my sister-in-law, two nieces, and some good friends who helped Michael get through this. Marsha you are loved and will be missed greatly.
