Marsha Brown, RN, MSN, FNP
After surviving a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, Marsha Mary Brown, age 69, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on April 7, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 7, 1946 in Sylvania, Ohio.
Marsha was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and later earned her BSN from Lourdes College. She also earned her MSN and FNP from Medical College of Ohio. Marsha was a dedicated and passionate Health Care Provider and Educator. She was highly respected by her students and peers and recently received the Alumnus of the Year Award from Mercy College. Marsha was Past President of the Mercy Alumni Association.
Marsha loved spending time with her family, ideally poolside and basking in the sun. She loved to travel the world with her husband and soulmate. Marsha adored her dogs, Rex and Coco. Her family will miss her beautiful smile, strength and feisty spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of almost 33 years, William; children, Jon (Kathleen) Canty, Heather (Todd) VanderPol, Russell (Wendy) Brown, Michael (Mary) Brown, Trish (John) Benedict, Stephen (Lindsey) Brown and Zachary (Andrea) Brown; grandchildren, Casey, Maggie, Grace, Julia, Will, Jack, Nickolas, Eric, Megan, Michael, Ellie, Jack, Hannah, Emmah, Stephen, Savannah, Tatum, Riley, Makayla, Tenley; great-grandchildren, Madison and Kaden and god-daughters, Elizabeth Benedict and Patsy Reifsnider Mangas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Marshal Hailman and infant son, Christopher Aaron Canty.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Scripture Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Historic St. Patrick, 130 Avondale Avenue.
