Marnita Wendella Donaldson

Marnita Wendella Donaldson, 39, departed this life August 12, 2021, at home. She was the first born to the union of Wendell and Theresa Donaldson on June 26, 1982, in Toledo, Ohio.

Marnita was a graduate of Calvin M. Woodward High School, class of 2000. She was employed at the Marriott Residence Inn of Maumee, Ohio for 9 years. Family and friends were very important to her. She was an avid traveler with her parents, with whom she was very close to. Marnita loved to try different and new things - she was very adventurous! She was always smiling, especially when she put together activities and events. Marnita loved shopping and was known for getting her mother out of bed to go to Bath & Bodyworks, saying, "I have coupons!". Marnita loved her children and was so very proud of Kayla being in college and becoming her own person. She also enjoyed going on new adventures and to museums with Justin, as well as traveling to different places with them.

Marnita was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wendell, Sr. and Joann Donaldson, and her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Jannie Bester.


Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kayla Smith and Justin Donaldson; parents, Wendell and Theresa Donaldson; brother, Wendell Donaldson, III of Indianapolis, Indiana; nieces, Isabella and Amelia Donaldson; godson, Ezekiel Biney; godmother, Marnita Livingston; god sister, Baendu Williams; special cousins, Sierra Bester and Tanisha Spaulding; best friends, Aleta Foster, Jenny Sansom, and Yolanda Washington; and a host of relatives and friends.


The family will receive guests Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Toledo Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Bld., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
