Marlin D. Winkleblech, age 86, of Toledo and Florida, passed away Monday, July 12th, 2010 at Heartland at Waterville. He was born April 28th, 1924 to Arnie and Norma (Zeigler) Winkleblech in North Thumberland, Pennsylvania. Marlin was a graduate of Waite High School and went on to serve during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He attended the University of Toledo and was a member of SIGMA BETA PHI and a former President of KAPPI PSI, 1946, as well as a member of the Veteran's Club through the University. He was employed in Auto Sales and Management for more than 50 years. While living in Toledo Marlin was employed with Carl Schmidt Oldsmobile and Brown Pontiac for several years. When he and his wife, Sally moved to Florida Marlin developed and maintained Hertz Retail Stores in Florida and 6 other states. He was a Sales Manager for Stuart Lincoln Mercury and concluded his career in sales with Bill Shultz Chevrolet in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Marlin was an avid Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his parents, Marlin was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Alcock and uncle, Marlin Zeigler. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sally (Seegert) Winkleblech; daughters, Pamela (Robert) Kleinert of Lake Forest, IL and Tamie (Joseph) Tehensky of Toledo and grandchildren, Robert and Kelsey Kleinert and Victor and Nicole Tehensky.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
