Mark A. Polcwiartek, Sr., age 50, of Toledo, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born on July 8, 1970 to Frank and Nancy (Fannin) Polcwiartek in Toledo. Mark was a 1988 graduate of Whitmer High School. In high school he was active in playing football, baseball and basketball. Mark worked as an over the road truck driver for many years throughout his career. He remained a huge sports fan, playing softball after school traveling with his team. He was known as "Big Mark" by his teammates throughout the years. Mark was also an animal lover, especially dogs mainly black labs. He was a diehard fan of the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Detroit Tigers, and the Michigan Wolverines. Mark enjoyed being in the outdoors, riding his motorcycle, fishing and hunting. He often enjoyed golfing with his brother, Frank. Mark loved spending time with his family, his sons, and being an uncle. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his sons, Mark and Craig Polcwiartek and Alex Carr; father, Frank and his special friend, Ruth Scott; brother, Frank Jr. (Darlene) Polcwiartek; nieces and nephew, Jessica (John), Jerritt, and Jennell; former spouse, Beth Carr; special driving friend, Lolly Terrazas; and many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mom, Nancy.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
