Marjorie Lillian Townsend

Marjorie Lillian Townsend, age 99, of Sylvania, passed away December 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by so much love. She was born March 11, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio to the late John and Agnes (Ryan) Rieger.

Marjorie worked for Schmuckers for over 20 years, where she enjoyed meeting new people. In her younger years, Marjorie loved to travel, especially to her favorite state, Tennessee. A woman of faith, she attended Calvary Bible Chapel since 1999. Marjorie enjoyed playing cards, such as Pinochle and doing word searches. She loved baking and cooking anything and everything, especially for family gatherings, which she loved dearly. Marjorie's smile, love and cooking will forever be missed. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later…

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Karen (James) Royer; grandchildren, Jeffery (Jeni) Royer and Jodi (Tom) Youngs; seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Tom (Flossie) Townsend, Terry Stoll, Kathy (Dave) Beckman and Mark (Gina) Townsend; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her furry grandchild whom she adored, Zoey.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Cowell; second husband, Thomas Townsend; great-great-grandson, Connor Lonseth; and sixteen brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo, OH 43623 (419-473-0300) on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with her nephew, Pastor James Rieger, officiating. Marjorie will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
