Marjorie Cook passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio.
Marge was born July 11, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Howard and Esther Edwards. She graduated from Scott High School in 1948 as a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation she went to work for Fred W. Entenman Construction Co. In June 1951 she was married to Bill Cook at Glenwood Lutheran Church by Rev. Alvin Bell. They were happily married for 64 years. In 1972 Marge went back to work at various companies until retiring in 1990. In 1993 she joined St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered and held many positions on the Board. Marge loved to read and was co-chairman of the used book sale held there annually.
Marge and Bill loved to be together whether it was attending church, taking walks, eating ice cream or traveling. Their favorite destination was Hawaii, which they visited 7 times. Although she didn't like to swim, she enjoyed being at cottages on Lime Lake, Michigan and Lake George, Indiana. Marge also loved her sports teams - the Cleveland Indians, Michigan Wolverines and the Toledo Rockets.
Marge and Bill had four children, who survive, William (Carol) Cook, Nancy (Dan) Whitacre, Becky (Don) Freeborn and Diane (Joe) Pucci. They also have 11 grandchildren; Brian and Leah Whitacre, Don and Jonathan Freeborn, Jenny Bivins, Nicole Byrne, Dan, Anthony, and Matt Pucci, Laura and Phil Cook, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents and her brother Norman "Bud" Edwards.
