A few months after Marion's father had moved from Illinois to Ohio, she had arrived shortly after with her sister, Shirley in the open rumble seat of an uncle's car. Marion graduated from Scott High School on June 5, 1942. On June 7, 1942 she married Alan D. Henry. Months later Marion's husband, Alan was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. While in Stroudsburg, Marion decided to do volunteer work for the local Community Mental Health Centers Open Forum. She received a certificate as one of their Top Volunteers. Marion also assisted in the formation of a group within the Stroudsburg community that assisted widows in buying groceries and making sure that they made it to their doctors appointments. She was a member of the Bunco Club for a number of years, she joined during the World War II era and was a member until the clubs conclusion, which was over a year ago. In the late 1980's Marion and Alan returned to Temperance, Michigan where she had lived until her passing.
