Mario A. Bonilla, age 72, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his daughter's home with loving family by his side. He was born March 13, 1946 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico to Carmelo and Rafaela (Ayala) Bonilla. Mario was a welder with the Toledo Shipyard for many years and worked with Local 85 Boilermakers until he retired from MTS. He was an excellent swimmer and loved his ethnic food. Mario loved animals, music and being with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Amparo Bonilla; brothers, Carmelo "Liche", Rene and Israel Bonilla; nephews, Milton Bonilla and Candido "Baby" Perez. Mario is survived by his loving children, Rose (Rene) Bonilla, Janet Bonilla, Jose Bonilla and Mario A. Bonilla, Jr.; beloved grandchildren, Cassandra (Marcellus) Valdez, Vicente Valdez II, Jose Bonilla II, Izaac Bonilla, Devin Bonilla, Ava Bonilla, and Mariyah Vasquez; great-grandchildren, Marcellus, Mani'Ja, Ma'Niyah, Mar'Tasia and MarShawn Page, Nylayah Valdez, and Jose Bonilla III; sisters, Edith A. Bonilla, Ursulina Bonilla, Ada Calderon Bonilla and Sol Maria Bonilla Richard; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
There will be no visitation for Mario and Private Services were held per Mario's request. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
