Marilyn J. Shufelt, age 78, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at home where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 25, 1943 to Mildred (Maxwell) Baker in Lima. Most important to Marilyn were her children; she coached peewee baseball, served as a Den Mother for her sons' Cub Scouts and as a Girl Scout leader for her daughters troop. Marilyn and her husband, Paul W. Shufelt belonged to the Riverview Yacht Club; Paul was a former Commodore and Marilyn was a member of the Women's Auxiliary. Marilyn and Paul spent many years boating on Lake Erie on their antique boat, the "SHUBOX III." Many memories were made by them campaigning the SHUBOX III and entering it into antique boat shows.
After retirement, Marilyn and Paul lived in the Ft. Myers, FL area where they enjoyed singing karaoke at the Moose Lodge and American Legion.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul Shufelt, Ronald Shufelt and Shari Duvall; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; twin –sister, Carolyn English; brother, Dave Baker and sister, Dorothy Helland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Shufelt; mother, Mildred Baker and brother, Dick Baker.
At a later date, Marilyn's family and friends will gather for a private Memorial Service where her life will be celebrated.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
And if I go,
while you're still here...
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
...I will be there
