Marilyn J. Sowinski, age 80, after a three year struggle with her health left this world on December 24th at Lakes of Monclova with her son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren by her side. She had recently been asking to spend Christmas with her mother at her home, so she departed our physical world on Christmas Eve so she could be present with her husband Ted, brother, Harold, sister, Sharon and parents, Mabel and Clarence on Christmas Day in the Kingdom of the Lord.
Marilyn Rossbach was born in Maumee, Ohio on August 1, 1934. She graduated from Maumee High School in 1953 and Riverside School of Nursing in 1956 with a degree as a Registered Nurse. The happy couple exchanged rings and vows in the month of September in the year of 1965. They went on to have three sons, Thad, Greg and Gary.
Marilyn was a stay at home mom who was active as a mentor, teacher and referee to her three sons. She enjoyed traveling the country by van with her family and was active as a Cub Scout leader when her kids were young. She did continue her professional nursing career when her children were older working for various Riverside physician offices throughout the Toledo area. Marilyn enjoyed continued social contact and parties with her fellow Riverside alumni throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and siblings. Marilyn is survived by her three sons; daughters-in-law, Rita and Melissa; three grandchildren, Abby, Teddy and Autumn; along with an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
