Marie Martha Samson
August 25, 1932 — March 18, 2021
Marie Martha Samson, age 88, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on August 25, 1932, in Temperance, Michigan, to the late Marvin and Gertrude (Littlefield) Nehring.
Marie had worked for Oregon City Schools, as a bus driver, for over 10 years and then went on to work at St. Charles Hospital as a nurse. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Toledo and enjoyed boating, sewing, and painting. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her husband, Luther "Sam" Samson; three sons, Kevin, Kent, and Keith Fifer; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a sister, Vera Stich; numerous step and half brothers and sisters; and longtime friends, William and Mona Schmitz.
Marie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marvin and Gertrude Nehring.
A memorial service for Marie will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 North Erie Street, Toledo, Ohio, 43604, on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Peter Bowmer officiating. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.NewcomerToledo.
