Marie L. Martin

Marie L. Martin, age 48 of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 17, 1963 to Walter and Barbara (Elekonich) Martin in Toledo.

Marie graduated from Woodward High School, Class of 1982 and following high school she earned her Associates Degree from Davis College. Marie enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening; especially had a green thumb for her rose bushes. She enjoyed taking care of any animal that came to her that was in need of a home. Some of Marie's happiest memories included time spent at Lake Erie with her father, traveling many places with Joseph on their Harley and just being outdoors. She had many other interests including muscle cars, 80's hair bands and camping. Marie was an excellent cook and baker and her family will always remember the delicious meals she prepared for them. There was nothing more precious to her than the memories and time spent with her loving daughter and best friend, Ashley.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Barbara Martin; daughter, Ashley Ankney; longtime-boyfriend, Joseph Howard; brothers, Robert Martin and girlfriend Eva Purnia, and Michael Martin; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Preceding her in death was her father, Walter A. Martin and sister, Charlene (Martin) Miller and paternal grandparents, Pete and Agnes Wojtowicz.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
